Meet Jenny Mathis, Solution Center Representative at the Brighter Futures Solution Center assisting both families and providers around the state. Jenny has been with the Brighter Futures Solution Center for more than three years and assisted thousands of families and their children find care that meets their unique needs.

What education/degrees have you obtained?
I have a Bachelors in Psychology, an Associate in Paralegal Studies and a Certified Youth Worker Certification(CYC). 

How long have you been a member of the Brighter Futures Solution Center?
I’ve worked for Early Learning Indiana and the Brighter Future Solution Center for more than three years.

What did you do before joining the Brighter Futures Solution Center?
Prior to this role, I was a School Age Specialist for Child Care Answers.

How many years of experience do you have in early childhood education or social work?
I have been working with children since college. I was a Program Director at a Boys and Girls club for eight years and a Program Director for At Your School for 12 years.

What are some of your favorite things about your role?
I enjoy helping providers work through their any technology concerns they may have. 

What was the last moment that caused you to stop and remember why you love your work?
One provider recently needed a lot of assistance for processes in I-LEAD. She was frustrated and upset because of some recent system changes. After plenty of encouragement, we successfully updated her roster, submitted a renewal and finished her consent form. She was thrilled!

How do you spend your free time?
Enjoying concerts, camping and boating with friends and family.

What was the best advice you ever received?
Don't sweat the small stuff, and it's all small stuff.

What other interesting facts do you want us to know about you?
I love yard work! I am hoping to graduate from a zero-turn to a full-size tractor soon!
