Subject: Help Families Connect to Child Care Scholarships

Dear Community Partners,

The state’s new Build, Learn, Grow program is offering child care and before- and after-school programming scholarships to families that work in essential businesses, and we need your help to make sure our local families know about and can access these scholarships.

The scholarships are provided through the Office of Early Childhood and Out-of-School Learning and funded by Indiana’s federal coronavirus relief and recovery dollars. Scholarships are intended to help cover up to 80% of a family’s child care summer learning program costs, including summer camps' to out-of-school program costs, for children ages 0-12.

To qualify, a family needs only to have one adult in the household working in an essential business such as health care, human services, education, retail, restaurant and food service, essential infrastructure, media, manufacturing and logistics, religion or charity and many others found here.

These scholarships are critical not only to families who will benefit from the decreased tuition, but also our area’s child care and out-of-school time programs that are working to rebuild their enrollment from the pandemic. Our goal is to get as many families enrolled in the scholarship program as possible, as soon as possible.

You can help by spreading the word to your families and networks. There is a helpful toolkit of resources including sample email, text message and social media copy. Click here to access the toolkit.

Thank you for your partnership in ensuring families, children and child care providers in our communities are able to benefit from these scholarships.

Sincerely,
