Special Tips for Head Start & Early Head Start Programs

I-LEAD is available for all Indiana Head Start and Early Head Start programs. How programs access and utilize the services available online varies based on whether or not a program has a current record in Indiana’s Child Care Information System (CCIS) or if the program is unlicensed and/or exempt.
Read below about how Head Start and Early Head Start programs can create and access I-LEAD.

How can licensed, registered or CCDF-approved Head Start and Early Head Start facilities with an active email address in CCIS use I-LEAD?
All programs with active email addresses in CCIS should have received an activation email. For those programs’ provider admins, the first step for managing a site is activating an I-LEAD account.

How can licensed, registered or CCDF-certified Head Start and Early Head Start facilities without an active email address in CCIS use I-LEAD?
If your email is not included or is inaccurate in CCIS, contact your licensing consultant to update your record. You can also contact SPARK Learning Lab at 1-800-299-1627 or by emailing a helpful agent.
Once a program’s associated email address is updated in CCIS, provider admins receive an I-LEAD activation email within one business day. From there, follow the activation steps provided in this article: Activating Your Account
How can unlicensed and exempt Head Start and Early Head Start facilities use I-LEAD?
Unlicensed and exempt Head Start and Early Head Start provider admins can log into I-LEAD by creating a guest account. This is done by visiting ILEAD.in.gov and clicking on “Login” followed by “Sign Up Now.”
Users should create I-LEAD accounts using a personal email, so that account access and history follows professionals even if they change employers.
Once the user is logged into I-LEAD, they will see an option to go into Indiana Learning Paths. There will be nothing additional that the user needs to do in I-LEAD since they are not licensed or CCDF-certified. Learn more about using Indiana Learning Paths by visiting these articles.
