BUILDING A BRIGHTER FUTURE
Preparing for the future.

In 2019, Indiana’s early childhood community embarked on a comprehensive systems-building process to improve early learning through a recently awarded Preschool Development Grant (PDG). We looked deeply at critical factors that make or break a birth to pre-K system. And we explored how Indiana can do more to give every child access to great opportunities.

We’re building a brighter future for our early learning system through four key areas:
-
Creating a Strategic Plan & Improving Quality
We are working across the agencies, organizations and local communities to put the needs of families first, and to address alignment and coordination of programs and services for the expansion of Indiana’s pre-K system while building a robust early education system for infants and toddlers.
-
Maximizing Parental Choice & Knowledge
We are ensuring that more families have the information they need to make the best choices for their children. And that children, in turn, have the opportunities they need to reach their full potential.
-
Sharing Best Practices Among Early Childhood & Education Providers
We are harnessing information in a way that allows Indiana to better understand how to create a unified system that prepares its youngest learners for successful lifelong transitions.
-
Professional Development Options Through the Preschool Development Grant
Early Learning Indiana created asynchronous, online training modules designed for for mid-career and experienced early childhood professionals.
